Since 1989, New Start Health and Education Services has been rooted in the belief that every person deserves the opportunity, education, support, and resources needed to live the best life the Creator designed for them.
Since 1989
New Start Health and Education Services was founded on eight natural laws of health: nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, fresh air, rest, and trust in God.
Our work is guided by the principle: "Love your neighbor, care for your family, and strengthen your community. Charity begins at home and spreads abroad."
We believe God is the source of everything good and welcome people from all backgrounds while remaining honest about the faith, love, service, and compassion that guide our mission.
For over 35 years, we have provided health education, youth development, family support, career training, food assistance, clothing, and opportunities that help individuals and families reach their highest calling.
Our Founders' Legacy
Drs. Norman and Lorraine Stiggers
Drs. Norman and Lorraine Stiggers founded New Start Health and Education Services with a devotion to families, education, and creating opportunities for overlooked people in the community. Their vision extended far beyond temporary assistance—they sought to build lasting relationships and sustainable pathways to health, prosperity, and spiritual growth.
Through seminars, community events, and direct service, they demonstrated that education and faith-centered support could transform lives. They believed that every person, regardless of circumstance, deserved dignity, opportunity, and the chance to reach their potential.
Today, New Start honors their legacy by continuing their work and expanding it to serve future generations. The proposed Arts, Theater, and Music Center bearing their names will stand as a permanent tribute to their vision of creating a place where families can learn, heal, grow, and strengthen their bonds.
